Dan Riordan

Dan Riordan is a highly accomplished specialty insurance leader with extensive expertise in political risk, trade credit, and complex financial risks. As Head of Political Risk & Trade Credit and Surety at MSIG USA, he is responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and performance of these specialty businesses. Dan oversees underwriting capabilities, product development, and portfolio management while driving innovative solutions that help clients navigate an increasingly complex global risk environment. He is recognized for building high-performing teams, developing market-leading insurance products, and fostering strong relationships across the U.S. brokered market.

Before joining MSIG USA, Dan served as Global Head of Political Risk & Credit at Vantage Risk Companies, President of Political Risk, Credit & Bond at AXA XL and XL Catlin, and Chief Executive Officer of Global Corporate, North America at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. His career also includes a notable tenure at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, where he held various senior positions. Dan holds a Master of Arts in International Development from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and African Studies from the State University of New York College at Oswego.
