Takehisa (Ted) Chiba

Chairman, MSIG NA, Executive Chairman, MSIG USA

Since joining Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. (then known as Taisho Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.) in 1990, Takehisa (Ted) Chiba has served the company and its international subsidiary continuously. In his board chair roles with MSIG NA and MSIG USA, he is responsible for the marketing and client coordination activities and corporate governance of both entities.

Mr. Chiba brings 30+ years of experience in the global insurance markets, managing insurance product development and implementation across a wide variety of industries. He also possesses a decade of experience in the US market, serving in key positions within the US through the critical period when the Mitsui and Sumitomo organizations merged to form MSIG USA—an experience that affords him strong insights into the MSIG USA operation. Since 2022, he has served as Executive Officer in charge of the Americas Operations of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. (MSIJ), responsible for the US, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico businesses. He also previously served as President and CEO of MSIG USA. Mr. Chiba earned a bachelor’s degree in business and commerce from Keio University.

Peter McKenna

CEO

As CEO of MSIG USA, the primary risk retention division of MSIG North America (MSIG NA), Peter McKenna drives the growth vision for all product lines across the company’s comprehensive portfolio of solutions. As a highly experienced and innovative global insurance professional, he brings an unparalleled track record of success as a senior leader with deep expertise in commercial underwriting, distribution, and market relationships.

Prior to joining the Mitsui family of companies as CEO of MS Distribution Holdings, Mr. McKenna held significant industry leadership positions across the globe including CEO of Ryan Specialty Group, Europe; COO of Financial Lines, EMEA; and COO of Financial Lines, USA, at AIG. During his 23 years at American International Group (AIG), he led the financial lines business in the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and served as president of the company’s national accounts and management liability business. Mr. McKenna holds a B.S. in economics from Hobart and William Smith College and an M.B.A. from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a member of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB).

David Guild

Director and Head of Financial Lines

A strategic senior executive known for leading high-performing organizations, David Guild directed MSIG USA’s entry into the US open market for financial lines. He has built out this capability by developing a collaborative and experienced financial lines underwriting team that shares a common vision, establishing risk management tools that help MSIG USA provide an industry-leading underwriting facility, and aligning the claims team to provide best-in-class service for financial lines clients. He excels in steering underwriting, portfolio, and risk decisions that position companies and their clients for success, always leading with integrity and navigating volatility.

Before joining MSIG USA in his current role, Mr. Guild served in various leadership roles with American International Group (AIG), most recently serving as a Regional Managing Director focused on growth strategies, relationship management, and organizational development. His 22-year career at AIG included leading underwriting and broker relations/management functions within the financial lines business. Mr. Guild holds a B.A. in history from the University of Connecticut and J.D. from The George Washington University School of Law.

Michael Farley

SVP/National Underwriting Executive, Multinational

Michael Farley is responsible for the growth and profitability of MSIG USA’s casualty and workers’ compensation lines of business, with a current focus on our Multinational and reverse flow initiatives. A diversified, experienced, and multi-faceted property and casualty insurance executive, he leads multiple MSIG underwriting offices and fosters strong, long-lasting relationships with our clients and the broker community. Mr. Farley has a proven ability to manage, direct, and implement initiatives that meet short- and long-term objectives, leveraging his deep expertise in underwriting, strategic planning, business expansion and development, staff development and training, and budget and expense management.

Prior to joining MSIG as a Regional Assistant Vice President, Mr. Farley held various underwriting roles with Selective Insurance, The Hartford, Great American Insurance, and Royal & Sun Alliance. He earned a B.S. in management science/marketing from Kean University and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Associate in Management (AIM), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations.

Jeff Kaufmann

Head of Marine Underwriting

Jeff Kaufmann is a veteran insurance executive with 35+ years’ experience in specialty underwriting, focused on ocean marine, inland marine, energy, and supporting property and casualty lines. He is responsible for managing and expanding our industry-leading inland marine and ocean marine portfolios, maintaining a highly skilled and dedicated national team with deep marine underwriting expertise. Mr. Kaufmann sets strategic marine underwriting direction, implements operational efficiencies, places and manages effective marine reinsurance programs, and expands the MSIG USA distribution network by building strong relationships with producers that value our partnership approach.

Prior to joining MSIG USA, Mr. Kaufmann served as Vice President and National Underwriting Executive for the marine business and held various senior management roles leading marine businesses for insurers such as Tower Group Companies, ANV Global Services, XL Insurance, and Reliance National Insurance Company. A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a B.S. in marine transportation, he is a member of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters.

Marc Dantuono

Senior VP, Director – Head of Property

Marc Dantuono oversees MSIG USA’s broad property insurance portfolio enterprise-wide, ensuring we continually bring new solutions to the open market and through our delegated authority distribution channels. He applies his deep underwriting expertise and multi-line insurance background to build new insurance products profitably, enhance our underwriting strategies, and serve as a technical underwriting subject matter expert, guiding our training, auditing, system development, rates, rules, and forms. Mr. Dantuono is especially adept at underwriting process control, business process improvement, and new product development and implementation.

Prior to joining MSIG USA as Senior Vice President/Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer for our domestic property and marine businesses, Mr. Dantuono held senior management roles, responsible for special property, marine, and management liability lines. He has also held underwriting and product line management roles with American International Group (AIG), Swiss Re, Unitrin Business Insurance, Quanta US Holdings, and Atlantic Mutual Companies. Mr. Dantuono holds a B.B.A. in economics and finance from Temple University and serves on the board of directors of Mitsui Sumitomo Marine Management (MSMM).

Joe Fitzpatrick

Joseph Fitzpatrick

Head of Distribution

Joseph Fitzpatrick is a seasoned insurance professional with extensive experience leading distribution teams. As Head of Distribution, he is responsible for developing and strengthening distribution channels across MSIG USA’s various market segments, including direct, delegated, and multinational. Fitzpatrick’s experience uniquely qualifies him to drive growth and outreach strategies for MSIG USA.

Prior to joining MSIG USA, Joseph held notable leadership positions within the insurance industry. Most recently, he served as the Midwest Region Field Leader at CNA Insurance. He also spent a significant portion of his career at AIG as President of the Midwest Zone for AIG’s North America General Insurance operations. In this role, he oversaw strategy, execution, and delivery of core insurance business and services to a vast network of clients, brokers, and agents across a 15-state territory. Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Tracey Estes

Tracey Estes

Head of Casualty

Tracey Estes is an accomplished leader with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She has a proven track record of leading and empowering teams to cultivate authentic relationships and strategically achieve goals that support long-term profitability, sustained growth, and differentiation in the marketplace.

Tracey is currently the Head of Casualty at MSIG USA, where she is responsible for managing the profitability and growth of the casualty insurance portfolio. Before joining MSIG USA, she spent 10 years at Arch Insurance Company as the Executive Vice President, overseeing their Large Account Casualty portfolio in the USA. Prior to her tenure at Arch, Tracey spent a decade with AIG, serving as a domestic casualty underwriter, international management consultant, and manager of international casualty products, including middle market, DBA, and large national accounts casualty. She began her career as a primary casualty broker with Marsh. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Jayson Taylor

Head of Product Innovation

As Head of Product Innovation, Jayson is responsible for the development of new product offerings to help MSIG USA provide best-in-class service and position our customers for success. Jayson will guide the development of innovative products, including cyber and casualty insurance. His deep actuarial expertise will be instrumental in refreshing the product lineup for market leadership.

Prior to joining MSIG USA as Head of Product Innovation, Mr. Taylor served as Head of Excess Casualty for Argo Group, where he grew portfolio premiums while improving the overall profitability of the business. Mr. Taylor has held actuarial roles responsible for workers’ compensation, warranty, property, and liability lines with QBE North America, Wells Fargo, and EMPLOYERS. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Brian Botkin

Brian E. Botkin

Chief Underwriting Officer

Brian Botkin is a seasoned insurance professional with over 30 years of experience in driving profitable growth and product visibility within Financial Lines. As the Chief Underwriting Officer at MSIG USA, he oversees the company’s underwriting strategy, ensuring excellence across the company’s product lines and geographies. In his role, Brian is also responsible for implementing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Before joining MSIG USA, Brian served as the Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer, International Financial Lines at AIG, managing a portfolio across 40+ countries. His responsibilities included driving underwriting excellence initiatives, overseeing authority delegation, and leading talent development programs. Additionally, Brian held various leadership roles at AIG, including Global Sponsor for Early Careers, Global Head of Multinational Financial Lines and Senior Vice President, where he focused on regional underwriting management and strategic planning. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh.
