Dale James

Dale James serves as Chief Risk Officer at MSIG USA, where he leads the company’s enterprise risk management strategy, further strengthening MSIG USA’s leadership in enterprise risk governance. In this role, he oversees risk governance, including risk identification, measurement and monitoring, business continuity planning, and capital adequacy, while partnering across the organization to embed risk awareness into decision making and support the company’s long-term operational resilience.

James brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning enterprise risk management, capital management, corporate finance, and investment banking. Prior to joining MSIG USA, he served as Vice President, Corporate Finance and Chief Risk Officer at Alleghany Corporation, where he led enterprise risk governance initiatives, including catastrophe exposure management, capital adequacy, and reinsurance counterparty risk oversight. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Goldman Sachs, JMMB, and NCB Insurance.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies. James is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
